Jonathan R. Whitehead is scheduled to speak at the 2011 Small Business Federal Procurement Conference at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, co-sponsored by Missouri U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill, the Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers and the Small Business & Technology Development Center.
Whitehead will speak on Social Media, examining new tools, as well as common legal and policy pitfalls. “This is a vitally important tool for small business and government, but it also involves new risks,” said Whitehead. “Hopefully, by the end of the session, contractors will have some basic tools for putting together a successful social media framework.”
Owners of small businesses can learn how to secure government contracts and network with potential contractors at the annual Procurement Conference Thursday, June 2, at the University of Central Missouri’s Ed Elliott Union.
You can register at http://www.ucmo.edu/sbdtc. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in Elliott Union 234, followed by a welcome from UCM and Whiteman Air Force Base officials. Following comments by McCaskill at 9 a.m., Don Nissanka, president and chief executive officer of Exergonix, will speak on successful government contracting. Rear Adm. David Baucom, U.S. Navy, will speak on government procurement at 9:30 a.m.
